Has anyone used Taltz,

I'm recently diagnosed and they are starting me on Taltz .

  1. I was on it briefly in the spring of 2021, and it did not help me at all. I had a bad flare at the time, brought on by the first COVID vaccine, and that is probably the reason. I was put on Cosentyx, a similar medication, and that did work for about a year. What I remember about it was that the injection really hurt like hell. I have no problems with injecting myself, but the Taltz did hurt.

    1. Nearly two years. My last injection was at the end of May, about the same time I came down with a bad cold, and over the next month it became obvious that it just wasn't working. Was waking up every morning with pain and stiffness, much of it not going away throughout the day. I've read that it isn't as efficacious for PsA if you have really bad psoriasis, too. I'm on Xeljanz XR 11mg daily now, and things have been improving quite a bit.

    2. , They had added in Methotrexate but because of the side effects, they took me off of it. Glad that the Xeljianz is starting to work for you. I don't know what my doctor is going to do for the pain. It's unbearable, but I will keep moving forward.

On a happier note, my 4th oldest grandchild starts college next week. She skipped a grade in high school. She's only 16; smart like her grandma.

I hope your medication keeps on improving and staying pain-free. We are all in this together. Diane (Team Member)

  2. Hello , and welcome to the community here. I hope more of our community members can share their experiences with Taltz. Please do keep in mind though, everyone's experiences with treatment and medications are different, so one person's experience with Taltz won't necessarily look the same for others. That being said, we did have another community member ask about Taltz, I'll share the link with your here, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/forums/cosentyx-vs-taltz.

Also, as you mention being recently diagnosed, I wanted to share this article with you that one of our advocates put together about some of her advice for those newly diagnosed, https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/dear-friend-newly-diagnosed.

I'm so glad that you found our community here. Please know that we are here for you, and reach out anytime, whether you need to vent, have a question, or could use some support. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
