Has anyone had to give up work because of their condition and did they get UK benefits or early pension to live on?

This is being asked by a community member. This person is 54 and is now struggling to stay on top of their job as manager. They think it is necessary to make a hard lifestyle decision as they have enjoyed working, but it is too painful and they are tired of pretending they are ok.
