Hands

Hey guys, I recently got an x-ray back with Osteopenia in my interphalangeal joints (bone loss between the knuckles of my hands). This came after having to take my biologic more often and developing shaky hands and pain in my hands. I now have a note taker for my college classes and cannot practice violin as often. Has anyone else had this happen? Shaky hands and/or Osteopenia in the hands? Thank you, I hope you all are have a less painful day.

  1. Hi . That is a difficult diagnosis at a young age, but you are not alone. Here is an article from one of our advocates who was diagnosed with osteopenia in her early 20s: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/risk-factors-osteoporosis. The article offers some good information about preventing further bone loss. I hope this helps and that you get lots of responses from the community. Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)

      1. Yes I was surprised to find I had osteopenia in my hands

        1. Yes I have Psa and have suffered from my hands shaking for the past 5 years give or take, I wear a wrist support and compression gloves to help with this problem, its no joke when you are trying to carry out a task, very frustrating.

          1. I wish you didn't have to deal with this, . Do the gloves and wrist supports help? Has you doctor offered any advice? Thinking of you. - Lori (Team Member)
