Frustrated

I have been to a rheumatologist about a year ago very insistent that I only had osteoarthritis however I have had psoriasis since I was a child I'm getting new patches and areas of skin psoriasis all the time I'm in extreme amounts of pain I can barely walk a year ago I was working the hours 70 hours aweek and today I can't I can't stand for a long time I can't sit for a long time it's extremely painful I've now had muscle pain in my left leg all they keep telling me is that I need to lose weight I'm about 50 to 60 lb heavier then I was a year ago when this all really started to affect me I can't get them to seem to understand that I would exercise if I could I can't physically it hurts too bad I literally cry in my sleep at night and my husband wakes me up and says you're crying again because I'm hurting so bad what can I do to make them do whatever test they need to do to diagnose exoria psoriatic arthritis and get me the right medication I'm hurting I can't work I can't support myself I cannot seem to find a job that will allow me the freedoms that I have or that I need to do the job basically not standing a long time not sitting a long time only working four or five hours a day and it be every other day cuz once I work 4 or 5 hours the next day I'm hurting so bad I cannot physically do anything please help me some advice

  1. I am glad you found this community, . It can be hard to think about your options when you are in so much pain. There are two things you can do: You can see a dermatologist about getting on medication for your skin. Many of those medications also help with PsA progression and inflammation; and/or You can get a second opinion from another rheumatologist. I would suggest doing both. Not all rheumatologists are equally familiar with PsA and there are no definitive tests for it. So, unfortunately, it can take a long time and a few different doctors to finally get a diagnosis. If you really believe you have PsA, don't give up. The journey to diagnosis can be a long one, but the right medication can significantly improve your quality of life.
