Enbrel – Thoughts on its efficacy?

I’m at the 3-month trial and I’m honestly scared this can’t be as good as it gets. I’m still struggling daily. After the shot, I’m wiped out for 3-4 days only to have the next shot in a couple of days!

  1. Hey There,

I can share that Enbrel and I have been on a journey together. I go back and forth on whether or not it is helping enough. I have been on it 6 months and am currently in a flare after having felt better for a few months. I'll say this for certain - don't give up on it. My side effects fell away around the 3 month mark, and I have had continued and steady but slow improvement from 3-6 months (despite my current flare in new joints surprising me the last few weeks, the joints that were swollen and painful to begin with have improved). None of these meds are magical, and they take such a long time. I've heard you should keep with them for 6 months, even if you feel they are only helping some or if you are unsure. Some people really swear it takes 6 months or more to feel a difference.

I am with you, riding this same wave of uncertainty. You aren't alone.

    Rae
