I contracted Covid the day after taking my Skyrizzi shot. Plus I’m on methotrexate and 5mg of prednisone . I know this is affecting my recovery but wondering if anyone knows if this would affect if I remain infectious longer too?
I am so sorry, . I am hope your case is mild and that you are recovering well. Have you asked your primary care doctor for advice? We have no information on this, but it would seem that the same rules about potential for infecting others would apply regardless. The CDC says to quarantine for five after contracting COVID. Then, if you are fever free, you can end quarantine, but you should wear a mask for the next five days. Here are the latest guidelines: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s1227-isolation-quarantine-guidance.html. The presence of a fever is very important. If you still have a fever, that means your body is still in that critical stage of the fight against COVID and that you are still highly contagious. Once the fever is gone, you can assume your body is winning that fight. That should be true no matter what medications you are taking. I would still check with your doctor though. I hope this helps. I did a telehealth with my primary and she feels I’m ok and not contagious . I am having a harder time with respiratory symptoms and swollen glands. It’s much harder when you’re on drugs that suppress your immune system. Im doing the best I can but it’s frustrating to be on so many drugs and my PsA makes me weaker anyway. Thanks for your reply🥰

Hi . I am glad you asked so you can be confident about being around others. Even in otherwise healthy people, COVID symptoms can linger for a long time. If the respiratory symptoms worsen or don't improve, please go see your doctor in person or go to the ER. That's not something you want to mess with. I hope you recover a bit more each day. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)

Hi @Bethb1007 that is a great question. However, it is one best asked to your doctors. Your doctor having your medical history could best answer that question. Vickie W., team member
