Cold therapy machines

Does anyone here have experience with a cold therapy machine? I'm considering purchasing, but I don't know what to look for or where to start lol

  1. Hey , good to hear from you again. I believe we have a couple of community members who use a machine that pumps cold water around a cuff that you apply to an area of the body - is that the kind of thing you're thinking of? If I come across anyone who uses one going forward, I'll be sure to share the link to your post with them. I think we also had a community member who was interested in the Wim Hof Method (which I believe involves ice baths) but unfortunately I'm having trouble finding that post.

I hope others with experience will stop by to share with you. In the meantime, you might enjoy the following article on cold therapy: https://psoriatic-arthritis.com/living/cold-therapy Please let us know if you give the cold therapy machine a try! Warmly, -Catherine, Community Moderator

    1. Thank you!! Yes, that type of machine that you described is what I was referring to. I think I may give one a try...if so I'll let you all know. I'll definitely check out the Wim Hof method as well, I read recently that it's good for our nervous system to expose ourselves to cold (enough to be shivering for 1-2 mins)...I've been interested since I read about it, but still chicken lol!

      1. , oh yes please do let us know if you give one a try. I wonder if anywhere does a money-back guarantee so you could trial one out? I have only heard good things from the community about them, but we are all different.

Haha, yes I can relate to being chicken!! I've been listening to a lot of health-related podcasts recently and quite a few of them have mentioned the benefits of getting cold. I'm not really that keen to test it out at the moment 😅 Maybe I'll give it a go in the summer when it might feel more refreshing than jarring... For now, I'll stick with my ice packs! -Catherine, Community Moderator
