Blood Tests

Can you have a diagnosis of PsA with the following blood test results.
CCP : positive ( by 6 #s )
Sed. rate : negative
RF : negative
C-reactive protine: negative

Dr. wants to say if CCP is positive it is automatically RA, not PsA.
Joints involved are toes, feet, ankle, finger tips, elbow, & painful lower right back pain ( constant). All on different joints on different sides of body.
Does the CCP drive the narrative or do symptoms. I hate to just rely on this one Rheumatologist.

  1. Hi . Unfortunately, we are not medical experts, so we can't decipher these results. However, if you don't have confidence in the diagnosis, I would definitely get a second opinion. It will always nag at you if you have doubts and you don't do it. Most insurance policies cover second opinions. It is possible to have both PsA and RA. Do you have psoriasis as well? Thankfully, many of the medications for PsA and RA are the same. Obviously, you want an accurate diagnosis, but the medication should help regardless of the final verdict. Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. Thank you. I was mainly wondering if anyone had a positive CCP result & had just a PsA diagnosis.
