My First Wheel Chair Ride

I had been living with psoriasis for 15 years happily. Experience with different medication moulded life into a routine and I could help others as well. Only recently that scaling went up several fold and one fine day I realized that both my foot were swollen and stiff. I could barely move when I had love the most. Fatigue, irritation, pain and depression took over. I work in Delhi and family is in Mumbai. The separation aggravated the emotional breakdown. Booked my flight but knew I can’t walk up to aircraft. Had to use wheelchair. While I profusely thanked supporter but I was broken inside while on chair when I saw elderly walking around. My doctor and my nutritionist has helped me bounce back and I am on my feet of course with tons of precautions.

Last fall I had the opportunity to fly half way across the US to see an uncle who has terminal cancer. For the first time, I had them use a wheel chair while at the airport. It was a hard decision to make, but I was so glad I did. I had a one hour drive to get home from the airport. After sitting for about an hour at home, I could not get up the stairs to go to bed. Traveling is hard. But family is so very important. I’m glad you are doing better.
