"I hate having to deal with this. But, I am finding my way through with these helpful articles...and with the help of my doctors. I am 65yo & was diagnosed 3yrs ago. It took me awhile to realize, in hindsight, that I have had PsA for many years. I was always an extremely active person. When this "hit" me, (about 5yrs ago), it literally took me down. I had been plowing through with the pain until I woke up one morning and "literally" could not get out of bed. This is when I had no choice but to medically retire and was deemed totally disabled.This disease has changed my life drastically. Although I grieve for the loss of my former active self, I am trying hard to make the best of my situation and finding other means to stay active. I am now pursuing the option of obtaining a powerchair through my insurance, to help me be more mobile for family outings. I can only walk, (with assistance devices), for about 1/4 of a block before the pain becomes unbearable. Even though I have a cane and a rollator, I can only use these for VERY short distances. I also have other issues with my low back and my left S-I joint that affect my mobility. I love flea markets and outdoor craft shows, etc. I hope to get back to these soon!"
