An Experience with PsA and CBD Oil

Oh, how the world is a-changing. Just a few years ago, the idea of CBD oil is widely used to treat a variety of symptoms was simply too far fetched. Fast forward to today and there has been a progressive movement in the field.

For those who don't know, CBD oil (cannabidiol) is a natural chemical found in the cannabis plant. People all over are becoming more accepting of alternative therapies and choices. Importantly, they are becoming readily available to those who need it most. What a wonderful time to be alive.

Psoriatic arthritis and CBD treatment

Living with any chronic condition is by no means something for the faint of heart. For those of us who share our life journey with psoriatic arthritis, you know that while pain levels may vary, they are consistently present.

CBD oil is something I use on a regular basis. Being lucky enough to live where CBD is legal, makes it a lot easier to get my hands on. So when you are looking to get yourself some, please do your research. Make sure that you stay within the law.

Also, check the companies that create the product, ask all the questions before you settle on what you want to try.  I use the drops that go under the tongue, they might not be the best tasting. They do, however, get into the bloodstream rather quickly this way.

Adding CBD to my psoriatic treatment

CBD oil is used for a variety of ailments. Like with anything else, check with your doctor before adding this to your treatment regime. My reasons for choosing CBD oil to help treat my psoriatic arthritis are as follows:

  • Brings inflammation levels down
  • Assists with pain management
  • Helps to manage anxiety and depressive spells
  • Assists in getting some good quality sleep

As far as pain and inflammation levels go, there has been a distinct improvement. The overall edge of the pain - you know, that really sharp pain has certainly declined a bit.

The benefits of CBD oil

While I still need to take pain medication to help manage some days, I do feel that I take less often than I used to. The overall pain in my body, you know that feeling when everything just hurts all the time. That seems to have seen an improvement too. So for this, I am deeply grateful.

Sleep or the ever-elusive sleep. This is something that was never my strong point in life. Adding psoriatic arthritis to this mix only made things worse. Taking CBD oil (just before bed) has without a doubt made a big difference. I get better quality sleep and seem to fall asleep easier once I have woken up in the night.

Getting decent sleep is, in my humble opinion, one of the most underrated medicines in the world. If for nothing else and for this reason alone, I would continue the use of CBD oil. Everything just seems to be a little better once you are rested.

Treating psoriatic arthritis with CBD oil

So all in all, CBD oil is an alternative treatment that I choose to stick to. I have found that the side effects are minimal to nothing. With my treatment plan, the good points by far outweigh the bad. As with everything else, this might not be true for everyone, you have to find what works for you.
