I have searched high and low and can't seem to find anything relatable to my husband's story.
Sciatica pain
For the last 5 years, he has been dealing with horrible neck and shoulder pain, causing numbness to his right hand. After seeing a neurologist 4 years ago we were told physically there was nothing specifically wrong. He had several MRIs that showed nothing. About 2 years ago he started having sciatica issues on the same side as all of the other pain. It was getting worse with no answers.
Spleen removal
In January 2020 he got influenza B and was really sick but started to feel better after a few days, then a few days later was in excruciating pain from an enlarged spleen and was rushed to a larger hospital where they did more tests then I can even mention. They eventually removed his spleen and thought it could have been a form of leukemia but that all came back negative.
Psoriatic arthritis diagnosis
They then "diagnosed" him with psoriatic arthritis and he had to get a referral to a rheumatologist but we couldn't get in until the end of July. She has never dealt with someone without a spleen, which is a part of your immune system and has now started him on methotrexate. I am worried he has everything against him with his immune system and now we are lowering it even more.
Are there others that have experienced anything remotely close to this or is he now the first to truly go at this with nothing to compare to?
Thank you, and so sorry it is such a long story.
