Psa & Pso

I was diagnosed with Psa and Pso after 5 years of testing and continued illnesses. I'm still trying to get a handle on all the does and don't. Currently I got a problem with my left arm it started paini g a few weeks ago and now it feels like it's going lame. I have tried all muscle creams and patches but nothing works. Really would appreciate any advice 🙏.

  1. Get films of your neck and shoulder, and an MRI if necessary. What you describe with your arm sounds neurological, like a compressed nerve. It's pretty common to have nerve compression, and it can occur at any joint, when you have PsA afflicting several joints.

    1. thank you for the advice. I had an rhasotomy done 2 weeks ago as it use to help previously with the pain but this time it doesn't seem to work. They did do an CT scan before the procedure to see how far the degeneration of my spine and neck has gone as this has been a long-term problem. This pain and numbness feels different.

    2. You might see if they can order a MRI as it gives a better picture of your spine. This way they can see is something is pushing on a nerve or if your arthritis is affecting your spine and causing some compression. Sometimes you have to push the issue, for years I didn't and I finally decided to and I'm one of the lucky ones I have a PPO insurance so I found a rheumatologist before I tried pain management for my neck pain. I do have DDD in my C spine and T spine but I am so happy that I ended up with a great rheumatologist and a new proactive primary care physician. So don't give up keep a list of questions and what your physician tells you and go from there. Most of all try to make all your physicians talk to each other or to send notes to each other. I have found that my PCP makes my best gatekeeper and will talk to me regarding the notes that have been sent to her.

  2. Hi have you brought this problem up with your primary doctor or your Rheumatologist? I agree with in that you have to be your own advocate about these things. It is never good just to let it keep going. Vickie W., Team Member

    1. I'm making notes and will definitely bring to his attention with my next visit in 2 weeks.
