Will I ever be able to walk again?

10 years ago I started with PsA. It has progressed over time despite trying most oral and biologic meds. Last year I had a knee replaced and my body is rejecting the prosthetic due to my PsA. I can’t walk! I have two new little granddaughters I want to be able to play with and have great difficulty doing so. Will I ever walk again?

I’m so sorry you are suffering so. I hope you are doing better. There is nothing worse
than not being able to get around. I took walking for granted, who thinks how hard it could be? Living life every day and every step you take is excruciating, it is very hard to accept. Don’t give up, I know, it’s not easy. I hope you found relief and are enjoying your grandchildren.

Caseyb, I can tell you must be very frustrated. When our bodies don’t cooperate with what our hearts and minds want, it can be very disheartening. Have your Doctors offered any new plans of action to get you back on your feet again? What sort of symptoms are you having? Sending soft hugs to you today, I hope there are better days ahead soon.

Currently on Enbrel twice a week, methotrexate, and diclofenac (oral) and provided Vicodin which I will take only when I really can’t sleep. We are waiting for blood culture from knee to see what that reveals. Not sure what the plan will be. But this isn’t going to be my new normal. Thanks for the hugs.

I hope you get the results back quickly and that your Docs have a clear plan of action. Keep us posted! In the meantime, hope you can still give the kiddos lots of cuddles.
