Does anyone else take Simponi Aria?

I had my 4th dose of Simponi Aria. After my IV, the next day I hurt all over, it's like the med is attacking my joints.

By the next day I'm feeling good, but that next day I'm in bed.

What's your experience?

  1. Hello I used to be on Simponi Aria and YES! I had the same experience when I was on it. So much so that I planned for it. I usually was very "tender" all over, kind of like I had the beginning of the flu. I always made sure to plan nothing for the 24 hours after I was due for an infusion. I'm not sure of the whole scientific reason, but I did learn that if I took Benedryl and tried to rest/sleep/binge watch through it, then it was okay. Once I started seeing results from the medicine, I decided that it was totally worth it for me. I wish you the best of luck with it and really hope it works for you. I'm sure others with experiences from our community will chime in soon. How are you doing today? Feeling a little better? -Leanne, Community Moderator

    1. I've been taking Simponi Aria for 6 months and feel good right after infusion. My problem is the week or 10 days before I'm due the next treatment, I seem to lose all benefits of the drug. We're all different so it looks like you have to deal with it up front and I'm closer to the end. Good luck and I hope you do well.

      1. Yes , I agree with you , I often feel like I need my fix with this drug so much so the nurses say others say the same thing. I get it every 8 weeks IV. I've been on it 1 1/2 years about. It's better than other drugs for me as they all made me pretty sick .

        1. I've had 4 infusions of Simponi Aria. At ten day away from my January dose, I dropped into a pretty sever flare. Took a load/taper of steroids that my rheumatologist allows to climb back out.
I've heard the wait for an infusion or an injection called the "crap gap" here. What a clever and true term!
I didn't get much relief from my 4rth dose. I am disheartened.
