Psoriatic Arthritis Community Advocate Kim Clune

At 8 years old, Kim Clune was told that she mustn’t wash well enough to have skin like hers. The shame of that did not abate, even after a diagnosis of psoriasis proved the theory wrong. Kim now aims to quell the needless shame by sharing ideas with and learning from others about caring for one’s self with love.

The nurturing of self-care has been a challenge while managing the moving targets of several autoimmune diagnoses, including psoriatic arthritis. But Kim now focuses on her love for photography, capturing all the ways in which the world is beautiful, imperfections and all, and she manages her health well enough to lug heavy gear across the world to that end.
